Question regarding Monitors + Power Amps

Hi, I have a really basic newbie question and I'm hoping that some of you out there will be nice enough to take some time and answer. I'm considering purchasing a pair Tannoy Reveals for my home studio use and I would like to know if I *need* to purchase a separate power amp. Can I get by without purchasing a power amp or do I really have to have one in order to do any kind of mixing with the Tannoy Reveals? Please Help.

Well, you're going to need some kind of good amp to run them...what else did you have in mind?
