Mdk is on a distinguished road
mp3's, player recomendations, etc

Hi everyone,

I've been recording for a while (guitar, vocals, etc on a home DWS using wav only), but never bothered with mp3's. So I have a few questions. First I'll explain my need, I need a decent portable player. I've been taking low quality real audio disscussions of the net lately and burn them to cd-r to listen to in my portable cd player. The problem with this is I have to convert tape quality audio or less to cd quality. It's a waste of time and cd-r's sometimes. Not to mention the cd ends up having 50 tracks to allow "easy" playback. So I'm looking for an mp3 player that possibly can facilitate tape like <</>>, and save the place where I stopped (man! tapes can be so underated). Is that possible? I don't think it is. Also I need good memory. I would like to fit 8-bit or less, 1hr 15 mins per disscussion, on the player. I was hoping to get 5 or so on there. My appologies, I don't know the min/mb ratio of low quality recordings. I'm not big on burning mp3 songs on a digital player, just disscussions. Also I like name brands. If anyone out there can help me find a player to fit my situation I would be very appreciative. BTW I could record these discussion to tape, but I don't have portable tape player anymore(or a good recording deck), and I want and mp3 player!

thanks for reading,
matthew
