Question APEX 170 and 190 small Condensers

Any one using the APEX 170 or 190 small Condensers?

I'm in canada and they are cheeper here than the MXL 603's and even the ECM8000's(The new prices haven't worked their way into canada yet). Also I don't have to pay for shipping on them because there is a local dealer here and that also means I should beable to get them in time for xmas.

I'm thinking the 190's because they are supose to be fairly flat but the 170's are a little cheeper.

These mics are not in the same league as an mxl 603. For one thing, they're electret mics as opposed to externially biased and their frequency response and noice specs aren't good enough for serious studio recording. They'd probably be great on stage, though ... possibly as a low-cost alternative to the already, appropriately low-cost, AKG c1000.
