Darth Idios is on a distinguished road
data storage for VS-188o

Howdy friends!

My band and I just picked up an 1880. We have a bunch of stuff recorded on an ancient rackmount Tascam 8-track that we've started archiving into the 1880. We'd like to dump it off the hard drive into some kind of digital storage medium, taking advantage of the SCSI out.

What is the least expensive medium for this purpose? It seems like burning the data to CD-Rs is the best in the long run, but the only unit I've seen so far is the Roland burner, and we don't have $550 to spend right now.

Then there's always the ZIP drive, but do they make a ZIP with a SCSI input?

We could also get a hard drive, but we're worried that if anything happens to it, we've lost our history as a band.

Any thoughts, advice or details of personal experience would be a great help.

Thanks in advance,

Darth Idios
