Nuage is on a distinguished road
Just getting started

I want to start recording at home. I play fiddle in a swing band, but I don't necessarily want to record the whole band. I do want to be able to record solo guitar. I am planning on upgrading my computer from it's current PII - 233MHZ and getting a dedicated hard drive. I also plan on getting the Behringer 8-track mixer. Now, my current sound card, the SB Value!, is probably not good enough. So, first question, what's a good one? Oh, I'll also need a CD burner.

Windowman mentioned using Cakewalk Guitar Tracks Pro. What does that do for you?

First, you might want to post this question in the computer recording forum. This forum is dedicated to Cool Edit Pro which is a recording/multi-tracking software package from Syntrillium.

With that said, you can check out some info on Guitar Tracks Pro here: http://cakewalk.com/Products/GP/GP.html
