Question Simple clean mixer needed

I am looking for advice on a mixer. This mixer will be feeding the power amp that drives my monitors. I need 4 stereo inputs, no tone controls, no pans, no sends or returns, and it should be really quiet.

I am going to feed my DAW, my console, my DAT, and my CD player into this thing.

Any suggestions?

For that use, might I suggest the Furman SRM-80 signal router? Here's my review of it : http://homerecording.com/bbs/showthr...ghlight=furman

Heres' the URL for the datasheet: http://www.furmansound.com/SRM-80.html

I use it to not only serve as a line level monitor selector for my console, my DAW, my Masterlink, and a couple of other two-track devices (cassette and MD), but because of its bidirectional nature it makes it really trivial to get MD or cassette tracks into my DAW: it lets you route any source to any destination.

It is well worth a look: I use mine literally every time I go in the room... it switches both sources *and* monitors (powered and passive, with level trims), and is just a fine piece of gear. I think it's worth every dime I paid for it, anyway...

Skippy, you're a life-saver!

Is it safe to assume the unit is REASONABLY quiet? I'm going nuts swapping cables and trying to figure out what I can get done in a few minutes before leaving for work in the morning -- something like this would really help if it doesn't degrade the signal too much. I'm playing mainly with cassette tapes and minidisc at this point, looking towards computer-based recording down the road a bit.

Thanks,

Mark H.

The specs are very good, and my unit is quite quiet. I don't think that you'll find there to be much degradation at all. It certainly does work well for me, and it has made dubbing, dragging reference tracks in off of cassette, and all sorts of other tasks much easier.
