Question 840ex and external mixers

okay good day eh,
just a few questions with 840 users and the external mixer idea. now i have a boss reverb unit i thought of pluggin into my ex but found the thing wouldnt just plug and play but had to be routed to 3-4 channel and all that in out stuff to record. now i was use to my old trusty fostex 4 track plug and play idea. so now i have this great ex machine with all these cool effects however thought it might be easier to control an external system. is it?? also then the idea of a mixer like the behringer602? looks like it would be a good studio toy. i am going to need phantom power for a mic> . Sonow what do you all think is the best option. an external mixer or a art tube preamp or just stick to the 840 and work it through?

Thumbs up

I would get a Behringer MX802A. The price difference is not that big compared to the MX602, and you will get 4 phantom power mic preamps.... + balanced outputs (can be handy in the future). I have one for my VS1680. Here you can look at all my gear:

I think the 840, especially, benefits from an external mixer (I like the Mackies myself), and from the ability to use additional effects.
