Sync VS880EX w/ Cakewalk & MOTU Micro Express?? Help!!

Can someone help me?

I've been recording on my VS880ex for about three years now with no problems.

About a year ago I decided to start sequensing my songs on Cakewalk (Express, for now) and then sync them, in the future, to the VS through my Roland Synth.

Well, my next CD is sequensed and the future is now!!

And I'm stuck in the mud!!

I've tried tweeking every setting I can get out of the manuals with no luck. I purchased a MOTU Micro Express to route everything through. So, I think I own all the right parts and pieces, but can not for the life of me get the two to sync (by this I mean start and stop together). The synth picks up all the cues which I can record on the VS, but no transport sync.

Can someone tell me what the secret is?

What I would really like is a list of all the right settings. It shouldn't be this hard.
