Unhappy VR800 & Setting up "dig in" for an MD or CD player

I just purchased a VR800 (will get a digital mixer eventually) but tried to use my MD player to record a track using the "dig in" function. The system is not recognizing the digital connection and continues to flash or blink the word "DIGITAL" which is supposed to stay lit and not flash.

I thought it could be that my MD player has an "Optical In line" only and not for output, but I tried it on my CD player which does have a Optical out and "DIGITAL' still continues to flash on the LCD.

What can I do to get the system to recognize the digital connection?

See if this works..! 1,press Disp Sel key to "select setup" press Execute yes..
Use JOG wheel to select blinking "dg in"

2,Press EXEC/Yes key again..Letter "L" will blink..now you can use the jog dial to input track...1 thru 8....press "execute yes"

To get to the right "buss" use the jog wheel same prosess...

Or you could do the setup you did and "arm" the track 1/8 and press the" exit / no" key...Should work fine
