A Perfect Inspiration
My favorite group is probably Orgy. Im into that whole techno/rock thing. About a month ago I set about starting to write my own album, record it, produce it... Well, I was originally trying to make it sound too much like Orgy. My vocals, the guitars, drums, everything sounded like Orgy. I couldnt find my own style. And I kept feeling like the music I was writing was out of place.
Well, just recently I downloaded the CD from "A Perfect Circle". Very good. The first single "Judith" is quite hard rock, but the rest of the CD is rather mellow but in a hard rock sort of way. Im not going to try and copy them now ( ) but instead its given me more inspiration to try my own thing. I dont need to use just synths and guitars like Orgy does. I can experiment with acoustic guitars and other things.Anyway. Once I finish the CD(some time in January?) Ill post it on here and let you guys critique it. |

I looove APC!!! Especially from a Music Theory standpoint, their work is absolutely incredible. Combine that with Maynard's amazing voice, and you have a totally orgasmic experience. They inspired the idea of my entire band (well, at least the part of using classical instruments). Orestes is like the greatest song I know.
Well, enough ranting from me. Chris |

quite!
They use power chords of course, but they use tons of other stuff. Its so haunting sounding. What I want to know is how to get that "haunting" but melodic sound? Everything I play sounds too "happy". It sounds like it work good for a children's nursery rhyme. But how do I get that haunting sound? help...? ![]() |
