naughty bass
I'm having a problem recording my bass with a clean sound. Direct into the preamp, then to disk, but the sound is accompanied by random electric zitz and crackles. I had the guts of the thing replaced - new pots and jack, plus copper shielding for the pickups - so it's not that.
Any ideas? |

If you've checked out yer electronics, and everything seems to be working, then it's possible you've got a bad cable.....just a thought, maybe too simple, but it's happened before in my experience......gibs

You could always try mic'ing your bass cab, probably sound like shit, but it might work...
How are you playing your bass? Slap, Fingers, Pick? |

Fingers, and I don't have a bass cab.
![]() I'll try the new cable. Another thought is that it's the instrument input on my Joemeek that's the problem, but I don't have another electric instrument to compare, and besides, I don't even want to consider that possibility. ![]() |
