Thumbs up

I use a pair of MA-8 for mixing, they are IMHO a great set of small speakers.

Exclamation

Yes, somewhat close, remember these are $79 speakers. I mix to cassette first and than ran out to the car and listen, pop the cassette in my main stereo and a boombox, than if needed, tweak the mix.

I really dunno! I've heard that cheap monitors suck, but then you 72fender said that MA8 is actually OK ... hmmmm ... plus they look really small to me.

Please, Fender! Persuade me into buying it! I've been listening to your advise all along since I owned my BR-8 ...

I know of three other BR-8 owners who use MA-8 and they seem to be happy. The MA-8s push a lot of 'air' to be so small, and are fairly flat when the tone knobs are in the 12:00 position.

They work for me, I just use the BR-8 to write songs and make demos for my band and publisher but I find myself, also, wanting to make my demos sound good.

The one thing that I must stress, is EQ'ing and mixing. I've heard mixes done on high price monitors that sucked because the EQ or the mix was terrible. If you don't make a good recording at first, you never have a good recording.

What did I start! I hope that you musicians are happy with the MA-8s. One thing too is that you'll need a 1/8" female mini-stereo to 1/4" stereo adaptor if use the BR-8's headphone input.
