UA-3 and Line 6 POD v2 or ED U-8?

Which would be better, using the Roland UA-3 to play into my computer with the help of the Line 6 POD v2 recording preamp, or should I get the ED U-8 that has 8 channels and a mixer built in? Would it be better to have the preamp?

Hands down, the POD is by far the best direct recording device going. No contest!
