sound blaster live! DSP

hi folks, I wanna get sarted recording a bit using CEP, and I'm wondering about how to take advantage of the powerful DSP that's on my sound card (sblive 5.1).
I understood that all CEP effect were handled by the CPU, and it takes a long computation time before you get the results.

creative's audio hq allows you to have real time effects like flanger, compression, distortion, reverb, is it anyway we can use this real time capability in Cool edit?

thanks

The effects in a Live card are for listening to in games. They could be used if you took the output and recorded it with another device or soundcard, but you can get better free plug-ins than the 16-bit output of an SBLive.

Yes there is a way to record you stuff with those effects on the creative sound bar set it to the effect that you wantthen you can set your recording device to "What You Hear" this should work. If not then I am crazy and should be shot.
