Question Midi

what kind of midi set-up can I use with cool edit pro? Can I integrate my soundcards general midi with the use of a midi controller key board? Any clues as to how to get started with midi and cool edit pro? Do you have to fork out for another sequencer?

Unhappy Midi

I know you can use midi with cep in someway - there's a section in the manual " Assigning a midi source/destination to cep" which I am hoping someone will explain to me in simpler terms.

you can use midi as a control device. For example you could asign a midi keyboards keys to be used for various functions like play, record, stop etc.

but ive tried it, and it hardly works.

BUT HERE GOES!!!

under. Options>Shortcuts....
you can assign a particular MIDI key to trigger a LOT of different funtions. Do so.

THen, in theory, under Options> you "enable MIDI triggers"..

and there you go.

However.. you cant use "sysex(?)" commands...
