Fostex Vm-88 Please Help!!!!

I have been trying for a few days to get my Digital Out to work on My VM-88 with no sucess. What I would like to do is go from the board into my computer. I am using a TerraTec Sound Card with Digital In/Out. I have turned the digital Out on in the Set-up Menu to S/P dif and Adat with neither one working. I have also just tried to plug the cable into the Digital Out to see if I see the red Dot when I am sending sound through the Board.. No Light. I tsted this theory but using the out on my soun card and received a red dt so something tells me it is the board.. Am I forgetting something? Please HElp any advice would be greatly appreciated... I just got one of these a week or so ago, I was up & running in a few minutes and have had no probs - the manual is actually pretty straight fwd.
You have to enable which channels you want to send or receive digital information in the digital I/O setup info. You also have to enable the mixer channels with buttons @ the top of the faders when mixing. If you haven't gone completely through the digital I/O setup menu (through the channel specifics), try that.

I eill try what you said jitter. I thought I only had to set up for receiving Digital... What about the S/P Dif should it be that or should it be ADAT going into the souncard.. Thanks again.
