Good for playback, but what about mixing?

A friend of mine works in a local radio station. While I was visiting him he was doing some work in one of the sound rooms. On that computer they were using MONSOON MM-702 monitors. The sound was great on all the songs being played. But what I'd like to know is if anyone has had experience using them for mixing on computer. I know they are not considered a sound engineering studio monitors. Just wondering if anyone has used them as such in a home studio and what was the result.
