Question Compatability of N Track Studio and XP?

Anyone had any problems? I am thinking of registering this great software and just want to know if there are any issues before I do. Personally I haven't come across any.

Been running ME....my system is not that smooth...never has been. I too would like to get some feedback on XP.

ME and 98 are useless - switch to 2K or XP

Well I'm thinking of going with XP but I just wanted to hear some feedback. What is it about XP that makes it better. More stable? I like stability in fact the little quirks with ME really bugs me.

XP an 2K are far more stable, and far more efficiant in their use of system resources. There is no comparison.

Yes ME eats um up I had to add another 128MB to smooth it out. So the upgrade is smooth with no kinks? I just upgraded some computer components and it's been a 2 month nightmare. I don't want to go through any more of that for a while.

win2K maybe runs a bit smoother than XP in default setting. XPs nice looking interface takes its toll on performance. But you can disable alot of that stuff.

Cool XP, 2k, or 98?

I do my recording in Win2k. It's stable and does a better job of memory management. No question.. hands down.. 2k is a much more stable OS than 98 or ME.

BUT.. OS stability is only the first step toward having a good DAW. There must be driver support for your hardware. Many sound card manufacturers (and others) are frustratingly behind the times in terms of driver support. Driver support is always the first thing to check into before upgrading your OS.

Cool

Thanks, Rusty. Was it THAT obvious that I'm a newbie here?

I was happy to see a forum specifically for n-Track. I've been using it for a couple years and STILL just scratching the surface of it's capabilities. I'm hoping to learn tons here!

And I'll stick my nickle's worth in when appropriate.
