Midi Seq. and Acid 3

I am a newbie here and am getting Acid 3 down pretty good.

As I understand it Acid can play midi files but you need a midi sequencer to make those file (assuming your not using pre made files). Is this correct?

Is there a sequencer pgm out there that integrates well with Acid? or is it really a seperate thing?

I want to be able to construct some drum tracks and create arpegiated synth pads

Just to clarify - you have Acid Pro 3, right? Because I don't think you can import MIDI files into Acid Music 3. At least I know I can't - and I will be going to Acid Pro 3 soon. I am going to use Cubase to do my sequences. I am sure any program that can create and export MIDI files would work, I would say use whichever you like the most.

Cool

yes you can record midi in acid 3.0. you will need midi interface and a keyboard. just hit the record button check midi and you are ready to record. make sure your soundcard or interface is check in acid to recived acid. plus acid has its own midi sounds to playback.

Yeah, banm33 is probably right, I am confused but I do know that there is a limitation when it comes to what you can do with MIDI in Acid Music 3.0 as opposed to Acid Pro 3.0. I don't remember the details because I don't have the stinkin' manual with me at the moment. I will have to fudge with Acid Music 3 tonight and see what I can and can't do with it re: Midi.

ok brad, the only limitation is you cannot edit midi in great detail like cakewalk and cubase.you can edit midi in acid, very light. you can add midi files to your acid project. play back dls sample file, generate midi time code and yes synchronize with external devices. you can assign midi ports to each track like cakewalk and what's really cool you can assign fx effects to the midi tracks if you use acid for your sound module. you know like gm. hope this help.
