Question Monitors

What exactly is it that makes monitors sound different from regular speakers?

Cool

studio monitors are designed to make the music sound as flat as possible so that you can make accuratemixing decisions.....regular stereo speakers are designed to make the music sound better, usually hyping the bass and the highs......

Damn, sometimes I feel like broken record... broken record... broken record...

Many high quality consumer speakers are also designed with flat frequency response. (sigh )

Frequency response actually tells you very little about the linearity of a speaker. (sigh )

Despite their flat responses, many of the commonly recommended studio monitors are not particularly good with respect to distortion, dynamic compression, transient response, etc. (sigh )

bla, bla, bla,.....
