Controller Question: Newbie

If I have a controller like a fatar 1100, would I be able to use something like a PhatBoy controller to add extra knobs to something like a VSTi? So in other words, play the instrument with the fatar and change the other things with the Phat Boy.

How would I hook this up also?

Sure. How to hook it up depends on whether or not the Fatar and the Phat Boy have MIDI Through ports. If not you would want a MIDI merger, or have more than one MIDI port into your computer (like the Midiman MIDISport 2x2).
