Star Spangled Banner revisited

OK I finally got Nowhere somewhere somehow here's a link to the nowhere radio site where hopefully you can download or listen to this very cool 1977 live recording of SS banner / purple haze done by the band I was in back then called Cheap Day Return

Scriabin is on a distinguished road
that kid did a great job all he needed was a univibe for a dead on woodstock sound. remindes me of the time i played the star spangled banner in a Mars guitar competition a couple of years back when i was 17. i played that damn song in some parts with my teeth complete with all the dive bombs and the explosions. shoot, i broke my custom shop hendrix strat whammy bar 2 hours before the show since i had been playing that song non stop for 2 weeks straight. whats the point of this little story?? dont really have one... oh, and those bastards put me in 4th place right behind some zit faced 16 yrs old shit who played limp biscuit crap. come to find out the top 3 winners of the competition we're all students of the judges....needless to say i dont shop at mars anymore

Hey Scriabin

Battle of da bands etc . are normally a bunch of crap. You obviously are a Jimi fan. I think if your as good as you say you will enjoy meeting and seeing Dave play live. He never "made it" though many locals did like QR, the Crue Great White, VH and come to watch Dave when they can. He is now 42 and somewhat of a rather decent player( yuk yuk). He plays local gigs in La La lands tiny clubs occassionally. He's in a cover band (ARRRGH!)called the G-Spots but they let him loose to fly at every gig. Randy Rhodes had the utmost respectfor Dave when he was a local. Quiet Riot opened for us a few times before Randy went with Ozzy. And of course Eddy was just another gun slinger in town before VH made it. Cheap Day Return opened for VH's "shit howdy were signed gig" at the Snow Crest Lodge at Mt. Baldy.

Imagine Eddy, Randy and Dave all within 3 years and 10 miles of each other.OOPs I forgot Monty... Oh well he doesn't fit into the 3 year range ..the old fart. It's that ol unfiltered SGV well water with the PCB's and stuff that makes for some exceptionally entertaing gun slingers / gitRist

You mentioned playing with your teeth...
listen to the beginning after the dive bombs and explosions he starts to play the SS banner and you hear the crowd kind a hoot and howl He's playing with his teeth there. I actually have the B&W reel to reel video of this performance. He was and is amazing.
