Normalizing songs?

This question may be too general, but here it is.
Does anyone have any general tips for normalizing files in SoundForge? I have several songs that I would like to put onto a cd, and I would like them to be nice and loud and even.
So c'mon, give a brotha' the info.

Search the BBS for normalizing. I remember seeing a post with a great article on this topic...
