ACID users may be interested in this...

Pete Townshend has been playing with ACID of late, and he plans to put up some free guitar loops in the future. Want Pete to play the guitar part in your newest masterpiece? ;-) I don't really use ACID, but Pete's my hero and this looks like a lot of fun. Take a look here:

Scriabin,

I don't think those are the loops he meant. On the first page Eurythmic pointed us to, Townshend says, "I am going to work during the day and then post a few guitar thrash examples. These will be musical pieces, but the guitar loops that come out of it will then be posted FREE at the ACID user library. I'll give y'all the URI when I get closer to the end."

So I believe the MP3 and RealAudio samples are the "few guitar thrash examples," the "musical pieces." That would explain why you found them less useful as loops than you hoped. Check AcidPlanet.com sometime in the near future for the actual loops, I would guess...

Yeah, I was a little bummed to hear the drums in there, but hey, Pete's a 'newbie' when it comes to loops, cut him some slack.

I think is is amazingly cool for an artist of his caliber to do something like that...

Short as they are, they are pure Pete. I just love the way he plays... and the tone was fantastic too, sounded a lot like his old Gretsch on Who's Next...

Unhappy Not Ready for Prime Time Loops

So, I tried to play with the loops.

Problems:

Silence at beginning and end (can be fixed with a basic sound editor).
Loops aren't "Acidized" (Need to insert info like BPM and root note, can be done in Sound Forge, not sure what else...)

Any of you "Golden Ear" folks wanna give me root note and BPM info on these puppies?

If you do, I'll volunteer to chop out the silence and "Acidize" the loops and post 'em where you can get 'em.
