How to change the looks of the grid?

My english is bad but im gonna try anyway.

If i want a higher resolution (smaller notes) and choose the 32nd step thingy, then i can draw smaller notes. But the grid field still shows 8/steps or what you call it. Could i get the grid field to be showing a line or cell for every 16nd or 32nd???

I hope you understand me.
