Cool Edit Pro not in 'Tools' menu

How do I get CEP to show up in my Tools menu in CWPA9.03? Do I need to re-install CEP, or is there something I can modify in the .INI file? Thanks in advance.

You need to edit the registry to do this. I don't remember the instructions, but I do remember I got them from Scott Garrigus, author of Cakewalk Power and Sonar Power. I believe he has a web site, and may actually visit this board.

I copied this from another post, maybe on another BBS... my apologies for not remembering who I took it from. In any event, this works in Cakewalk 9, it does not seem to work in Sonar (if someone knows different, please let me know!!!)

The tools menu in Cakewalk Pro Audio can be edited in the registry. To get there go - Start\Run\ then type Regedit. In the registry go to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Tools Menu

Right click on Tools Menu after following the path I listed above and create a new key (this will simply be a sub folder in the ‘Tools Menu’ folder), name it Cool Edit Pro. Next click on the key you created then right click and create new ‘string value’. Name the first value - Type. Double click on it and type in
the data - WaveEditor. Repeat this process (create another string value) for the remaining four lines below. The first part of the lines below are the names followed by their associated data.

"Type"="WaveEditor" (the string value entered above)
"ExePath"="C:\Music Programs\Cool Edit\coolpro.exe"
"HelpFilePath"="C:\Music Programs\Cool Edit\coolpro.hlp"
"MenuText"="Cool Edit &Pro"
"StatusBarText"="Edit the selected audio event using Cool Edit Pro 1.2"

Close the registry editor. Open Pro Audio and you should see Cool Edit Pro in the Tools menu.
