tm-d1000 & the motu 2408

I have the the tascam tm-d1000 and the motu 2408 mk1 and I can't get anything to work. Anybody out there know how to hook this gear up or, own this gear and has been through this.
I have the tdif cable and the word clock bnc to rca but still nothing!!!
My goal is to record analog audio via mics, no midi.

Any thoughts or ideas? Tascam service is slow and a pain in the a#@!
