Question Original Midi Sounds

How do i get the original midi sounds out of my keyboard and into cubase. when i send the midi it will only play through the instruments that i have in the computer. i want the same instruments that are on the key board and i want it as midi and not audio. i could send it through the outputs as audio. I have the manual but haven't been able to find it. is it possible

No. You might be able to find Sound Fonts built from the sounds on your keyboard if your sound card is a Sound Blaster Live. Really, the only real way is to record your synth's MIDI output as audio.

If you have a USB port you can access the sounds on your keyboard via a USB MIDI Interface like the Midiman MIDISPORT

Hmmm, looks like tdukex and I got different ideas about what it is you are actually asking here, soundboy. Are you talking about getting your keyboard to respond to Cubase, or about getting the sounds of the keyboard onto the computer so you can mix them down to CD or MP3?

Cool

What sort of audio outputs are available on the keyboard with the sounds you want to capture? This will dictate the probable success of this venture.

Some have speakers. Put a microphone in front of them and listen to how crappy it sounds.
Some have headphone outs. Adjust this output down to line level and listen to how crappy it sounds.
Some have line outs (at this level and above you're in there).
Some even have S/PDIF outs with the digital audio signal. Cool!
