Deal of the year ?

I was wondering......

for some time now I made pretty interesting deals with local bands. I offered them free studiotime, and signed a contract for a 'pay per copy' deal. This way the band had no costs, and only had to pay me a certain amount of their profit. The bands had nothing to loose, only profit.

Ok , everybody probably thinks I'm nuts right now. With 9 out of 10 bands I never see a penny. Still hoping band number 10 is going to sell major.

"if only we knew, we could have saved him"

Well, this way I fill up the studio-spare time. I kind of still hope one day a million selling productions comes out of these deals. Yes I want a Mercedes and a Neve-console. Problem is that I'm not seeing much interesting local bands around any more. No hit-potential music if you ask me.

'So what does he want ?'

Would anybody be interested in free studio time (and here comes the shitty part) in Holland.

Your benefits :
1. free studiotime
2. bragging 'yeah we're now recording in Holland'
3. free coffee

My benefits :
1. new ideas and musical influences
2. bragging ' yeah we got an american/canadian/polish band recording at our studio'

I hope you get the idea of this all. It worked for local bands, and it would be pretty cool to try it with foreign bands.

(P.s. its not like a bedroom studio, it's a fully pro 32 track studio www.downside.nl)

Thats like a deal I had a long time ago..Called a "Spec deal"..
Thats short for speculation deal..If only I could drive my Ford Thunderbird from Florida to Holland...The water gets thru the door jambs and I would sink before I got 3 feet into the trans Atlantic part of the trip!...LOL..You should advertise in some English ,German or French newspapers you would proboly get a lot of inquierys...Good luck
