while using a neighbor's cool edit, occasionally (and more and more as time goes on) i'm getting a message saying an illegal function has been performed, and i'm given no choice but to shut down, leaving me with whatever i saved last.
is the hard drive too full?

Well, how full is it? Also, have you been clearing the stuff out of Windows Temp folder? Stuff accumulates there like crazy.

You didn't say what OS you're using, but a friend of mine had been having similar problems with CEPro 1.2 on Win2K and upgrading to 1.2a seemed to solve it. He also did this :
In Options > Settings > System, Set the Wave Cache size to the following (based on amount of RAM). 16 MB -- 2048 32 MB -- 4096 64 MB -- 8192 120 MB -- 16384 Mightn't have anything to do with your problem, but there you go... pAp |

Wav files are huge, and you need loads of storage space.
Things got better on my system as soon as I bought a second hard drive (40 Gig) to store all the wav files on. Things got better again when I got a bigger faster main drive. |
