Question CAD Software

Anyone have a recommendation for CAD software that works well with studio design? John Sayers site has great drawings... any idea what he used?

Thanks.

If you are just looking to use it for drawing basic layouts and diagrams, you can pick up a copy of TurboCAD; it's fairly cheap. For a little more money, you can buy AutoCAD LT. It is ten times better than TurboCAD and it's compatible with full versions of AutoCAD.

There is software named cadkey I bought once for under 20 bucks that should do the job. Autocad is expensive. Idownloaded smart draw once and didnt like it at all but thats just personnal preference.

I use Visio - primarily because it has an "office template" with walls, doors, windows, and furniture, and its easy to drag and drop a design pretty quickly. It also exports to HTML, JPG, GIF, etc just as easily.

Since were on the subject; does anyone know of a software package that would enable you to scan a drawing or picture and enable you to turn it into a dxf file. There are other formats I could use but the dxf format is the easiest for the application intended.
