MIDI for Fruity Loops?

I'm just getting into midi, I got a keyboard that will do as a midi controller and have fruity loops 3.
I've been messing around with this fuity loops and it seems pretty good to me! It's easy to use to me, so I want to keep on it as possible...
I tried to use my keyboard into fruity loops and I found that I can activate samples from the current song by pressing a key on the board, Also if I use other note than C It changes the pitch and streches the durtation of the sample... I also noticed that It's very unaccurrated for triggering, I pressed the key and the loops started playin like 0.5 seconds later or more!! that's no good for electronic music... so, I'm sure there are a lot of things I can do with it, I just want to know...

Thanks to all those who care!!
