Wordclock Viewing

I have a question I'm hoping someone somewhere, can answer.

Does anyone have in their hands a link or a document, that fully describes what a pro-audio wordclock signal should look like? I checked it out on some of my gear, but didn't get far due to my oscilloscope having a bad day.

I'm somehow picturing a 48K wordclock is not just a 48k 1v p-p square wave.

Thanks! Any information would be appreciated!

Frederic
