VISIO Sketch - dimensions not exact yet
Here is a visio sketch of the situation, I have to go back and double check the dimensions. The only thing I know is for sure is the booth is 4x5 feet. I want to know whats the best way to sheild this room and this room only from the other rooms sound, I only want to sound proof this 4x5 room.
Any suggestions. http://www.raiseitup.com/studio_roughsketch.jpg Thanks R. |

As a "newbie" (whatever that means) you might want to have a look at the pictures of some of our studios:

holy crap!
you framed your studio with your gear still set up?
... if I did that my all shit would be TRASHED by the end of the day ... I guess I'm just not as careful as you ![]() Everything looks really good so far ... sounds like you have a good plan. If you want to know how to make your vocal booth soundproof. I would suggest to read this page: http://www.saecollege.de/reference_m...Acoustics3.htm to get a good overview of soundproofing (make sure to read the part about "Sealed Environment"). Then, choose a construction technique from this page: http://www.saecollege.de/reference_m...TC%20Chart.htm that would give you the level of isolation you want. |

all the stuff is actually in another room outside that room, about 24 ft long, and 19 feet wide
So I am building racks now to move stuff out of that setup, and get my stuff out of the way, to get the sheet rock down. Hopefully it will work out good. R. |

I'm not sure how i landed in this thread, but wow, i just spent about 45 minutes enviously looking at all these studios. You all should be very proud.
We have a huge stand alone garage that we are making into our studio. Actually it is big enough to make a three bedroom house so we will really only use maybe half of the space. Hopefully i will be able to post some pics of my own before too long. As of right now it is one huge open room with a lot of carpet over a cement floor and over walls that are cement blocks. We have a long way to go. These pictures have got me itching to build booths and a control room and....... t ![]() |
