Question Edit pencil or what???

Could use the help, don't have the time to check the print out manual! I recently purchased a Core2 with the limited Cool Edit Pro to use for mixing down. How do I find the tool to fine edit a "pop" showing in a wave?
Any quick help would be appreicated

or another neato thing to try is to highlight the spike, then go (from the edit waveform view) transform>amplitude>amplify and you can fade it or just lower the level of it so you can't hear it.
