Suspended ceilings?

I've often seen suspended ceilings recommended to help soundproof home studios, but don't low frequencies, even at moderate volumes, make the ceilings rattle with sort of a buzzing sound?

OK;
First of all if your ceiling is rattling from the bass frequencies, I would suspect that you may be recording a bit too loud!
Another possibillity is that the suspended ceiling was not installed properly. I put plenty of support wires up in mine and have no rattles. The tiles fit in very tightly and it is a pain to open it up.

OK here are the good things about a drop ceiling:

1. It is inexpensive and Looks great and quite professional.
2. Offers a bit of sound dampening, especially with added insulation above.
3. You can hide cable runs, phone lines, air conditioning ductwork all above the tiles.
4. All kinds of cool light fixtures are available and it is much easier to cut into and work with than dry wall.
