I reinstalled CE Pro on Windows 2000 Pro after I formated my hard drive, now I can't get jack shit to work right. This is my latest brain cramp, can anyone shine a light on me?

Well, Mr Rats, that's very interesting, cuz that's exactly the same error message I get when I try to use the digital I/O on my fucked up Gadgetlabs soundcard - in my case it's telling me that things aren't talking to the soundcard. In your case, your soundcard is alright, right? How about looking at settings for the soundcard, though? My Computer > System > Sound Devices etc Is it working okay?

Also under control panal>sounds. Set it as sounds=none. Sometimes windows beeps will screw up the sample rate of some soundcards. Just a thought, no idea if it will solve your problem.

Thanks peeps, problem solved. Turns out it was as simple as my my recording and playback devices were set in CE to use my frigging modem instead of my soundcard !

By the way dobie, since I erased my machine I don't have the link you gave me to that "other" cool edit pro board, think you could post it agin?

Which one - the Syntrillium board or the Audioforums board? I go to the Syntrillium board now because it has a resident techie who's really involved. Here's the link for the Synt board:
