it's a good place to lurk......lots of younger opinionated assholes, whereas here we have lots of over 30 opinionated assholes....I think there's a couple of old fart regulars there, though....

the misc. forum is amusing as hell....the repair forum is good....the electric guitar forum is kinda hard to separate the information from the "I've gotta _____________(name yer ax)".....either high dollar lp/strat/prs or epi/ibanez....

the other forums pretty much do what they do, which is share info...

I don't like the layout/colors.....the board is kinda hard to read....

homerec has by far the best readable board that has lots of stuff like smilies, italics, etc..... it's as easily comprehended and navigated as the really simple, vanilla boards, such as FDP (which I like also) which has no bells or whistles to speak of....

vs planet borders on being plain silly as well as hard to read, but I understand how the members there are loyal to it.......it's a comfort/peer thing like it is with any board......

pro rec......hmmmmmmm...whatever....(great info though sometimes....)

all these boards have the usual fighting/bitching along with some humor.....but this place is the fighting/bitching/humorous main place of choice for me.....

homerec rules in other words.......it's home...... but I have more than one mistress....gibs

Talking

Yeah, there are a lot of kids on there right now. If your not up on all the goings on in the misc. forum. There was kind of a mass exodus of the older regulars a few months ago.

When school got out for the summer the place was flooded with little kids, posting porn, and poop pics, and generally just making it very hard to have a real conversation.

Chuck_Mann started an Ez-board for all the old regulars. It's password protected, so the kiddies can't get in. That's where I hang out most of the time, but I still post on guitar.com a lot, too.

Bubba,Bloozer,Stratpacker, Boner all the main regulars are on the ezboard all the time, but they still pop in on g.com, every so often. There's also a lot of the old regulars that almost never go back, because of the bull crap. But on a whole it's a pretty cool place to hang.

What's your username over there?

Is it worse than alt.guitar or rec.music.makers.guitar?

UnkleSlam, I've never joined guitar.com, I just lurk and read there....and I probably won't join, just continue to hang silently....

I lurked here for a couple of months before I joined and realized this place had a great feel....

never joined pro rec or vs planet either, just look in from time to time...

I'm a member at FDP, but you'd never know it because I don't use my usual bad language there....damn, it's kinda civilized there, but not a lotta passion.........I don't post a lot, though, just read and read.....huge number of members at that site.....

bongolation, did you change your handle at FDP?...haven't seen your FDP name in a while, but there's a member there that writes in your style..BP?........I've never been to the sites you mentioned above, I'll probably check em out, but ya know, guitar sites can be pretty redundant...............gibs

FDP is a site that deals with fender or fender owned products...I've got a couple of fender guitars...and some dearmond guitars/bass, the company which fender is discontinuing...there's also guild guitar info there......

The site itself is not owned by fender, although there are fender employees there a lot.......gibs

Hey H2H, I don't post very much, usually just hang....probably most recent post was giving an url to somebody in the strat forum....I've been over in the dearmond forum a lot....most of the people there seem pretty pleased with theirs...I love the bass and guitar I got, but still have some other stuff on back order....

name there is fret..........gibs was taken, if you can believe that.........gibs
