KRK K-ROK: Monitor trouble question?

I've been using K-Rok's for four years now in different environments and I would like to get any opinions from other users of these monitor speakers.

I've noticed a bass buildup around 110 Hz that is really annoying when you sit in a triangle with equal sides of 1,5 meters. When I move back a little, so that I'm three meters away from the speakers the buildup decreases a lot, it's still there though. Is this in the speakers or (as I suspect) in the fact that I haven't acoustically treated my room whatsoever. Should I move them further away from the back wall (the bassport is in the front...) or build some kind of bass trap, etc.?

How about getting a sub to for a more accurate bass?
