...or maybe the PS5's?

Ok, so my girlfriend just forced me to consider the PS5's over the 20/20's.

Now, I know what I said in my other thread....but I got to thinking and now I just don't know.

What I'm concerned with is that the PS5 only has a 5" woofer, opposed to the 20/20's 8 inch. And being only 150 bucks more than the 20/20, it seems like maybe they're really inferior.

I cannot afford the 20/20bas. I probably can't even afford the PS6. I've got a mixer to buy here too so I've got to spread the money around a bit.

(yes, I know you're impressed that my girlfriend talked me into looking at the PS5, and also talked me into getting a small mixer...probably the 1202VLZ)

So, what are your comments about the project series. If you were in my position, what would you do? (for real, no grandpa talk)

No offense man, but if your GF is as clueless about recording/audio/technology as most women I know, I wouldn't be letting her influence a gear decision!

Gender biases aside, why don't you check out the aforementioned Proto-J's or the Hafler M5's.

EDIT: also, you might want to consider saving up for JBL LSR25's.

Naw man, she didn't suggest them to me...she was just looking at the catalog and said, "well, these monitors are only 150 more, you should get them if they're better."

Screw it, I'm going with the regular 20/20's. Maybe for christmas I'll pick up a hafler P1500 to drive them.

Slackmaster is striding purposefully down a Bozeman street. A car pulls up the curb beside him, matches his pace, and the window slides down. A man in a black suit and sunglasses (strange... it's 11.35 pm...) looks out at him, smiles gently, and says: "That money's just burning a great big hole in those tight blue jeans, isn't it, mountain boy?"

Slackmaster's nonplussed. He hadn't expected this. Suddenly he catches a glimpse of metal in the hand of the other man in the car. His heart jumps - a gun? No...not a gun. Something shiny. Then he spots a CD dangling from the rearview mirror, and the man in the suit smiles that ominous little private-joke smile again.

"A coaster," he says. "Didn't burn right, so I strung it up here." He reaches out and twirls it gently with his forefinger. "To remind me," he adds. Then he looks back at Slackmaster: "It's useful to be reminded sometimes," he says, and this time he smiles hugely with all his very even, very white teeth.

Hey Slackie, what happened to the JBL SRL25's? Dig you forget about them? They are only $480 a pair at Musicians Friend.com!

It's the greatest AKG link in the World!!
