using soundforge?

I use soundforge for mastering. I commonly use normalizer, waves C1 compressor, and the reverbs that are in there. Is the normalizer the best thing to use to boost the initial raw signal from my recorder? Does anyone have final mix compression tips, final eq or enhancer tips? What is ultramaximer? (sounds REALLY cool). I have experimented with all of them but am still in the process ........
