midi file generated from Fruity Loops

What good are they?
Can I use them in PA or do I have to export to a wave file to use??

Well, if the MIDI notes correspond to drum hits they can be very useful. I don't know why else they would bother exporting MIDI files unless they were useful.

When you say your attempt was "empty," (yes, I read your other post in the Cakewalk Forum), do you mean there are no events in the file at all, or that you couldn't hear anything? If the latter, maybe the track isn't assigned to Channel 10?

If there is data in the file, why not email it to me and maybe I can see if I can discern what's up?

ok, ya, I generate the midi file, after I have programmed a loop, then I try and open that midi file in PA8, and it doesnt appear to have anything in it 'empty".......are you saying if I change it to channel 10 after i load it, the events will show?

No, I'm not saying that at all...

If the MIDI file is truly empty, I can't help you because I have no experience with Fruity Loops. Perhaps its something like what happens when you export a Cakewalk track to an audio file but don't select the track? That's my best guess.

there is a clipboard option, apparently i can put the midi file on the clipboard then paste it into Cakewalk....gonna try that!

I still cant get it to go....ugh
seems the only way to use the loops are to render them as a wave file....

does anyone know how to get the midi part to work with CWPA8??

anything else, i want drums, synths, sound effects in a sequencer, like fruity loops...but the ability to generate a midi file.....


btw, I just got Rhythm and Chords standard edition, it looks really good....anybody use it??

ACID doesn't generate MIDI files, I don't think.

I use Cakewalk and have no problem opening MIDI Files. Are you sure it's a MIDI file? Does it have the "mid" extension? You need to save it as a "mid" file to transfer it between applications.
