Fostex RD-8 Troubles

My ADat recently has been having some troubles. IT will fast forward and rewind but won't play, it seems to be stuck whn play is engaged. Sometimes the no fromat will appear in the display even though the tape was formatted and has tracks on it. After trying for a while it will play but it won't play the tracks back basically it plays like a blank tape. it has alot of hours on it recording wise (3500). Any suggestion to what the problem could be? Or, any solutions? It kind of happened without warning the guy I bought it from had the heads cleaned about 8 months ago. Nay help would be greatly appreciated.

The idler wheel may be slipping. Call Alesis Parts at 800-525-3747. Ask for the Idler Wheel Kit that comes with instructions.
