LOL you got that right! At 3000+ im gonna have to sell everything i got to get one, i did try it at the music store and it is sweet sounding! Nice arpeggiator and the touch screen is cool too. I dont know, maybe i should just let the big boys play with it and stay with whats cheap predictable.

or shem, you can do what I did - if you already have a MIDI keyboard, just get the Triton Rack - all the same great sounds and expandability (minus the touch screen ) for around $1500.

Brad, if you or anybody else reads this, this is an interesting idea. I have the keyboard , can it act as a controller for using a module like the triton module for half the price??!! I mean what is the value of the whole thing if you already have the keyboard?? That sounds like one hell of an idea if it would work

Yeah shem, it is true. There may be some real time control features that the rack is lacking, but I don't think so. The absence of the touch screen does mean a less intuitive user interface, but hey, I just wanted the sounds of the triton, so this was the way to go for me. I think most places carry it for $1599. I got mine for about $1529 because it was a blem return (I have yet to find anything cosmetically wrong with it, and it works fine.) so I got a real score. If you already have a controller, this may be a good solution - try it out in the store first to make sure it has the sounds you are after - although I believe it has the same ones as the keyboard - same sampler - same everything - I even think it can handle MORE expansion boards than the keyboard version (might be wrong about that) But I do know that the rack unit, unlike the keyboard, has mLan capability. That will be handy someday.

if yuo cant afford the triton, try the trinity rack (called the TR Rack). ok, not the same sounds, but they are still fuckin amazing.
