Question A 1-man Studio

I was just wondering what the best setup is for just one person to do all the recording. I already have a MIDI controller keyboard and a Mic. that I hook directly to my soundcard. I was wondering if there was a better way to record. I dont need a top of the line studio but I would like a nice one.

Thanks in Advance,
Scott N.

Hi! I have been recording my own stuff now for 9 months and it all started using a free program i got 8 tracks, my stock HP soundcard , keyboard and mic, guitar. You can get decent recordings without any mixer or pre amps, ive done it! But if your doing MIDI work you'll want a program like cakewalk(pretty inexpensive) and thats it! Theres fx in the program and you can start doing all kinds of crap right away with little cash! Eventually to control the levels better you will want a little mixer though.
