dabluesman's Cyber-Twin mp3 w/recording specs

This is my first recording done with the Cyber-Twin. Its a blues-rock tune that I've been jamming lately.
dabluesman's Cyber-Song1 mp3

Here are the recording specs:

Guitar: '99 Fender Am. Std.
* Strings: 10's
* Pickups: Bill Lawrence L-280's (for this song I just used the neck position pickup.)

Amp: Fender Cyber-Twin
* Preset I call Dirty Tube
* Brit-Post
* HMB Tube 1
* Blackface Reverb
** Direct input via XLR's w/XLR to 1/4th cables (Left & Right - Stereo)

Bass: '98 Fender MIM P-Bass

Bass Recording:
* SansAmp Bass DI (to) J-Station
[I'm not sure about the J-Station's preset settings, I just tweaked things until I got the sound I was looking for (along with the SansAmp).]
* Direct input via 1/4th jacks (Left & Right - Stereo)

Drum Track:
* Zoom RythmTrak 234 (w/DSP-FX Acoustic Verb)
* Direct input via 1/4th jacks (Left & Right - Stereo)

Recording Device:
* Direct input into a Delta66 Sound card via 1/4th inputs (Left & Right - Stereo)

Recording Software:
* Mixed, mastered, & edited with Cool Edit Pro
* Room ambience provided by DSP-FX "Acoustic Verb" (on the drum track and a little on the guitar track.)

Thats pretty much it. If I think of anything else I'll post it. Feel free to ask any questions, comments, etc.

Nice playing. You can tell the drums aren't real though.

The guitar sound on this sound is nice. Can't wait till I get a cyber twin which will probably be never.

jgourd is right, the drums don't sound that real.

The drums don't sound real, sure they don't, but I've heard MUCH WORSE!!! Mebbe if you pushed 'em back a bit in the mix they might seem a little less mechanical.

Nice guitar work, cool song.

Smile

I just listened to your song ...

although, yes you can tell the drums are not real ... they fit well in the formet of the song ...

I love the guitar ... really nice ...

it would be cool if you had put a lead ride in there without the drums like in the center somewhere ...

after you got through most of the song they started being a little repetitive and took away from the great guitar ....

just my opinion .... Lana / www.mp3.com/thecrowleys

Thanks for the opinions! That'll give me something to think about when I work on the next one. I really like the guitar tone I got from the Cyber-Twin too, maybe next time I'll try a "tweed" preset. Thanks guys!
