Question adding seperate tracks

i recently downloaded a entire cd and burned it. when i tried to play it back on my cd player it showed up as only one track about 59 min long. How do i break the songs up in different tracks so i can select the track i want to hear.

sorry kind of new to this. i used nero 5.5 and used the basic recording option. the cd plays fine but you cant select tracks.

thanks again!

I'll assume for the time being that you downloaded an .mp3 file. When you say you downloaded an "entire album", did it come as a single .mp3 file, or was there a separate file for each song?

It sounds like it was a single file - and therefore when you burned to CD you got a single track (containing all the songs).

What you need to do it convert the .mp3 file to a .wav file. Then you need to edit the .wav file by slicing it into the seperate songs and saving each song as a new .wav file. Then burn the new collection of .wav's to a CD and you will get each song as a separate track.

To do this you will need software capable of converting .mp3's to .wav's and a .wav editor program. There are tons of this stuff available. Oftentimes you will get some (or all) of it included with your CD burner.

Post again if you need more help.

dachay2tnr is correct on all points. You can download some of these packages such as cool edit (syntrillium)in a demo form which you can use for this for awhile for free. Do a search for warez? I havent looked for awhile but there are a few good sites to download some of this stuff.
Dachay2tnr, where in Jersey are you at? You have any links for this gentleman.
