Which adhesive tape for my board?

LOL, here's one that all beginners want to know, what adhesive tape is best for sticking to my board so I can note the instruments to the channels? My main concern is it not leaving adhesive and crap after it's been there 6 months......

Go to an art supply store and ask for architect's drafting tape.

The problem with 99% of the tape is that it will leave a crap residue especially if left in place for a long time - so what I use is "Gaffer Tape", which is a linen/cloth-based tape which leaves NO RESIDUE - even after a long long time! It's more $$ though...
