Steinberg Midex or somthing else???

I'm thinking of buyng a Steinberg Midex 8

Has anyone got one of these?
Was it hard to get it working with the USB?
I use Cubase, will the mided improve the timing as much as the adverts imply?

Do you know of any good 8 port Midi splitters (or what ever the're called???).
