Masterlink Error Msg - undocumented in manual???

On a 24/96 track, I enabled the compressor, a single EQ adjustment, and I wanted to experiment with the limiter. When I tried to engage it, the unit displayed "DSP memory full" and wouldn't allow me to continue.

Now I understand what the message means but what I don't understand is why I'm getting it - none of the other DSP functions were in any way extreme in their settings..... what gives?

If I switch to another track, I can use the DSP on it without problem.... anyone have any experience with this error?

There is no mention of the error in the manual (which, I might point out, is a little sketchy to begin with!)

Hi, Bruce,

It's a bandwidth issue. Is your other track also 24/96? Those 24/96 tracks take up so much horsepower that available DSP is limited (no pun intended! )

By the way, whenever you try a DSP and decide against it, make sure you turn it OFF (don't just "zero" the value). If it is ON it is in the chain...

Well, ya know Q... I have ta live with it for the time being, I know it just barely scrapes by as a useful piece of studio gear, but gosh-darn-it, it's just too cute a toy to quit messing with!

And besides, you really don't want to deal with all those problems yourself, do ya?
